Careers education, information, advice and guidance is truly embedded within the curriculum at KEVI Handsworth Wood Girls’ Academy. Our students are engaging with a number of businesses, FH/HE and training partners to gain an insight in to the world of work as part of their curriculum provision and through drop down days throughout the year.
During lockdown, our KS4 and KS5 students benefitted from virtual work experience opportunities through the Speakers for Schools portal and were able to engage with employers, training providers and institutions of FE/HE through virtual talks and workshops.
You can find out more about the employers that have worked with us by visiting the Employer Partners page. Below is a list of some of the FE/HE institutions and training providers that have worked with us, some of which continue to do so (please note that this is not an exhaustive list):
Our 2024 work experience dates are:
Year 12 – week beginning 1st July 2024
Year 10 – week beginning 8th July 2024
We are grateful to all the employers that are supporting our students with work related learning.
In addition to work experience, we have had a number of businesses, FE/HE institutions and training providers come in to conduct workshops or talks for our students which have been arranged for drop down days and as part of the curriculum provision in certain subject areas.
Please see the document below for details of CEIAG interactions our students have benefitted from during the 2022/2023 academic year.
